These past couple of years, we've seen plenty of local talents getting nominated for international awards.

We can add one more to the list.

Wants to act in more local dramas

You go, Frederick Lee!
Malaysian actor Frederick Lee has been nominated for Best Performance By An Actor at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards 2021, according to a report by New Straits Times.

The Taiwan-based actor received the nomination for his portrayal of a serial killer in Singaporean crime series 'Mind's Eye'.

"It is good to be nominated and better to win, but what actually motivates me is the satisfaction of being praised by international movie-goers and film critics for a job well done," the 44-year-old was quoted as saying.

Frederick, who is the younger brother of Singapore-based Malaysian actor Christopher Lee and the brother-in-law of award-winning Singaporean actress Fann Wong, is currently busy promoting his new drama 'Trinity Of Shadows'.

He was nominated for his performance in 'Mind's Eye'.
Moving on, he told the daily to act in more Malay and English dramas, and hence wants to better his command of the national language.

"I have to work on my languages so that I can excel in Malay and English films and dramas," he told NST.

Frederick added that he misses his family back home and hopes to pay them a visit once the COVID-19 travel restrictions are eased.

We'll be rooting for you, Frederick! Go and get that award.
