Over the years, we've seen plenty of local movies making waves on the international scene.
Well, we can add another one to that list.

Well-received by audience

Malaysian Tamil film 'Ennaval' just bagged the 'Best Crime Thriller Feature Film Award' at the Toronto International Tamil Film Festival 2021.
The movie, which was released in 2019, was partially funded by National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).

'Ennaval' portrays the significance of trust and communication in a relationship. The story is heavily inspired by many real-life characters and events. Emotionally relatable by any couple, the film's screenplay was crafted to send a strong message to the audience.

Director Saran Z, who is an award-winning music composer ventured into filmmaking as he wanted to make a film that will allow audiences to feel and reflect on their own relationships - in terms of their commitment, communication and loyalty.
The film stars C.Kumaresan, award-winning actress Sangeetha Krishnasamy and Vasanth Sarna in the lead roles while Suresh and Yashini from RAAGA appear in supporting roles. The film marks the first collaboration between the two top casts of the Tamil Industry in Malaysia, C.Kumaresan and Sangeeta Krishnasamy.
The scenes of the film were extensively shot in areas such as Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, Australia. Raaga's studio was also one of the locations where the shoot took place.
The film was released on 26 September 2019 and received positive reviews, mostly with praise directed to the film's screenplay, originality of the story, songs, frightening moments, plot twist and performances of the casts.
