Marvel Releases Unseen Footage in New 'Doctor Strange' Trailer

Marvel Studios has released brand new footage from the upcoming Doctor Strange movie just weeks before it hits the theaters, and Marvel fans would be thrilled to find out that the Avengers gets a special mention.

In the new IMAX 3D trailer, former renowned surgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) encounters a mystical being known as the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) to learn more about the mystic arts. His loyal assistant, Wong (Benedict Wong), who is now a trained warrior in the Ancient One’s Karma-Taj told Dr. Strange that “the Avengers protect the world from physical dangers. We safeguard it against more mystical threats”.

We also get a taste of humour that we can anticipate from Doctor Strange as the trailer ends with some dry wordplay between Dr. Strange and Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) the sorcerer.

Doctor Strange will also serve as an origin story for the Sorcerer Supreme, who is the sole protector responsible for guarding the world against magical and mystical threats.

The Marvel universe will not see the last of Benedict Cumberbatch with Doctor Strange because he has now confirmed an appearance in the highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.

Meanwhile, let’s enjoy Dr. Strange’s very own movie for now. Directed by Scott Derickson, the action-packed, supernatural martial arts film will open in theaters worldwide on 4 November 2016.
