If you follow Maya Karin on Twitter, or if you've been active on Twitterverse in the past couple of days, you would know about the controversy that the actress created in her latest tweet.

Several days ago, she voiced out about the poor state of English in Malaysia and received brickbats from netizens.

While some netizens couldn’t agree more with Maya’s tweet, some said her words were degrading youngsters who could not speak English.

After all, English is not everyone's first language, especially here in Malaysia.

Let's keep the debate healthy and civil.
She later explained that it wasn't her intention to ridicule anyone's intelligence, she was only focusing
on the quality of education and the confidence of our young students, as reported by The Star.

Do you agree with her comments on the state of English literacy among young Malaysians?
