Rock fans, have you been anticipating the day your favourite band Radiohead and its frontman Thom Yorke announce that they will be making their way to Malaysia soon?

Well, while we pray and hope that it will happen sometime soon, a local politician is probably already working on it.

In July 2013, Esquire Magazine published an interview with the now Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah, who at the time said that if Pakatan Harapan had won Putrajaya in the 13th General Election, she would have brought Radiohead to Malaysia!

Fast forward five years and a Pakatan Harapan win later, the interview resurfaced after a Radiohead fan tweeted an excerpt of the interview and said “Kita tuntut! Radiohead live in Kuala Lumpur! @n_izzah” (We must claim! Radiohead live in Kuala Lumpur).

Nurul Izzah surprisingly responded to the tweet by saying “Indeed. A promise is a promise #PostRamadanDiscussion. Now get on to work! ?”

A lot of excited fans replied to the tweet while others responded by suggesting that she help bring in other acts such as Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Muse, and Green Day, to name a few.

No word yet on when (or if) the band will make its way to Malaysia, but Livescape’s director and co-founder Rahul Kukreja has openly agreed to help bring Radiohead to our land:

Keep your fingers crossed fans, who knows it will happen real soon.
