One Cent Thief: The Jutawan Satu Sen Story Is Now Set To Be a Full-fledged Film

The Aman Shah story, famously known as the legendary Jutawan Satu Sen is currently trending on the social media sphere as the One Cent Thief series is being received well by Malaysian audiences.

The first two episodes of the series are now available on Astro with a weekly episode release every 9pm Saturday on Astro Ria HD (104), PRIMEtime (704), Astro Vinmeen HD (202) and Astro Shuang Xing HD (307). Fortunately for us cinephiles, we got an early preview and wrote a whole review about it.

As the hype train for One Cent Thief moves faster by the day, Astro Shaw head Raja Jastina Raja Arshad revealed that the One Cent Thief story is also set to become a film for the big screen.

Speaking at the 2-episode premiere, Raja Jastina confirms that the upcoming film will be set in the 1990s, around the same time Aman Shah pulled the heist.

‘However it would have elements of fiction as not every person he encountered will want to be portrayed,"

The series is written, developed and created for television by Alfie Palermo with Ariff Zulkarnain on the director’s chair. Alfie, Ariff and Astro Shaw cast big names for the series including Syafiq Kyle, Azira Shafinaz, and Fabian Loo together with veteran actors Faizal Hussein and Sofia Jane.

Both the series and the film are inspired by Aman’s story but what remains is; no one knows what truly happened during the heist except Aman himself.

At the moment there’s no confirmation or rumours about the actor taking the role of Aman Shah or other characters. Will any of the cast and crew return for the movie? We shall see.
