How many times can a person change their name? In Sean Combs (a.k.a. Diddy a.ka. P. Diddy a.k.a Puff Daddy a.k.a. Puffy a.k.a… okay, we lost track).

As you can see, in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ case, a lot of times.

In 1997, Diddy was known as "Puff Daddy." Then, in the following year, he went by Sean John. In 1999, adopted the name "Puffy”. In 2001, he used "P. Diddy" as his professional name, which is pretty much how he is most popularly known as. And then, he wanted to be known as “Puff Daddy”. And most recently, he went by the nickname "Diddy”.

We thought he would finally settle with this name, but no.

On Sunday, he tweeted saying that he had decided to change his name, again. This time, he wanted to be known as Love a.k.a. Brother Love.

In the Twitter video, he said, “I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. Some new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puffy Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love.”

Ever since this video surface, the internet couldn’t help but facepalm at the artist’s new name.

However, things took a turn when Diddy realised that you shouldn’t play around with the internet because apparently, he was just joking.

I see you can't play with the internet ?❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ be calm. Spread LOVE.

“Due to an overwhelming response from the media out there and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. I didn't change my name. It's just part of one of my alter egos,” he explained in an Instagram video.

Well, he can call himself whatever he wants because it’s a free world, right? But seriously, Diddy, stick to this name for at least a few more years, will you?
