Malaysian movie industry seem to be churning out one horror movie after another - some good, some...well, not so great.
Adding to the long list of horror flicks is 'Pusaka', which promises to be a movie like no other produced locally.
Check out the trailer below:
The movie's director, Razaisyam Rashid, told Rojak Daily that one of the reasons he accepted the job was because of the solid script.
"The concept is different from other horror films, because of the mix of mystery and the mystic.
"It somewhat gives a very deep sense of anxiety in the viewers," he said.
The idea for the movie came from Natasha Chopra, and was developed by writers from Astro Shaw.
The plot, structure and character development that the team came up with was then written into a full script by Anwari Ashraf (who also wrote 'PASKAL: The Movie', 'Polis Evo 1&2') and Alfie Palermo.
Astro Shaw & Nusantara head Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said Astro Shaw was committed in improving the quality of local films, following the success of several other different productions by the company.
"We are always open to fresh ideas was that are relevant to Malaysian audience.
"We're happy to have worked with Director's Think Tank - a leading advertisement production company in the country," she said during the launch of the movie's trailer and poster.
'Pusaka' stars Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Faizal Hussein, Fauziah Ahmad Said, Hafidz Roshdi, Sweet Qismina, Drama Muhammad, Aloy Paradox and Yuna Rahim.
The movie revolves around Inspector Nuar (Syafiq), who finds Qistina (Sweet) and the body of her twin, Balqis, trapped in a house.
He investigated the bizzare case and encounters many weird and supernatural incidences, driving him crazy.
At the same time, he also has to deal with issues at home with his twin Nur (Mimi Lana).
Will he save Qistina and solve the mystery surrounding the case?
You'll have to watch the movie to find out once it releases in cinemas nationwide on 31 October.
