The adaptation of Shieyruna’s ‘Kau vs Aku’ novel on Wattpad is back with another heart-pounding episode of a cheesy but cute teenage love affair. Picking up from the second episode, the rivalry between Aulia and Putri Hannisya intensifies after Danish Aryan announces that he will be single ‘forever’ on his TikTok.

SPOILER ALERT

The second episode sees a clip of Danish holding Aulia after saving her from a potential fall went viral on TikTok. The response from Danish’s fans were massive, with many wondering if Aulia was indeed Danish’s girlfriend. This scene took an unexpected turn when Danish’s mother, who’s also his manager, persuaded him to stay single for ‘branding’ purposes - which is frankly, a real predicament to ponder upon if you work in the influencer marketing industry (Because if you’re taken, your saham jatuh lah as an influencer, get it?).

On top of this, Aulia also faces another problem at home. In typical Asian fashion, Aulia’s father pushes Aulia to marry the person of his choice, Emir, Aulia’s second cousin (eww?). Thankfully Aulia is not into any of those Sweet Home Alabama shenanigans as she tries her best to avoid confronting her feelings for Danish at the same time.

The best of episode 3 follows the group deep inside the forest of Sungai Gajah of a camping trip with their friends and teachers. The scenes at this part of the episode reminded us so much of our camping days during high school - full of drama, jokes and the part we all hate the most; kawad.

Episode 2 progresses well in terms of plot and storyline. The scriptwriting for this episode is a tad bit more mature than the previous two. The insights and the dialogues are still spot on and the jokes are still peak Anwar Hadi. The Scorpion joke got us all cracked up!

But we have to single out Shasha Abedul’s performance as Aulia for this one. Shasha portrayed Aulia’s angst, confusion and multi-layered dilemma brilliantly as if she’s gone through exact situations before during her high school years (maybe? Who knows). Aulia’s pent up anger and melancholy can be felt and seen just by seeing her facial expressions; which are authentic and close to genuine.

Despite the mature scriptwriting as we mentioned, there’s no way the episode would ends without a generous amount of cheese - and this time they saved the cheesiest one for last. Fans got to see the complicated chemistry between Aulia and Danish, brewing intensely right before the end of the episode which leaves fans hanging for more euphoric romcom feels.

Episode 3 is now up on Sooka. Check it out right here.
