For Rupert Grint, who plays part of the iconic trio Ron Weasley, he recently revealed that he struggled quite a bit throughout his stint in the films.
Bloody hell, indeed
In a recent interview with Dax Shepard’s in his podcast ‘Armchair Expert’, Grint revealed some intense details about his experience filming ‘Harry Potter’.
"There was a time where it felt quite suffocating, because it was heavy going, because it was every day for 10 years in the end," Grint said.
"It was a great experience. Such a nice kind of family atmosphere. It was always the same crew we kind of grew up with, so it was a great place to be. But sometimes it definitely felt like, ‘I want to do something else. See what else is out there.'"
When the 32-year-old actor initially signed up for the role 20 years ago, he was informed that only two movies will be made and at the time, there were only four ‘Harry Potter’ books published.
Eventually, he realised he would spend 10 years of his life doing the role and confirmed it felt like homework sometimes.
"It just never ended. Every year, we came back. And it was kind of like Groundhog Day because it was the same sets. It was the same people. But it was great. I loved it."
He also admitted that he’s only watch each ‘Harry Potter’ film only once in his life with the exception of the first film, which he recently viewed again.
Besides shying away from watching himself in his films, he’s also very critical of himself and avoids watching old interviews, as it’s "the worst thing" for him.
Well, who would’ve known after all these years we see them having fun on and off screen and being part of the Wizarding World would have its downsides.
