‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ Is Getting A Darker Reboot On Netflix Soon!
Before Harry Potter, Stranger Things and Riverdale dominated our TV screens, there was a magical TV show revolving around a teenage witch that ruled the 90s.
It was none other than Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
The show not only helped propell Melissa Joan Hart to instant stardom, it also gave us some insight on how modern-day witches lived their lives alongside a sassy talking cat named Salem Saberhagen.
Sabrina Spellman basically embodied what almost every teenage girl wanted: magical powers at the tip of their fingers – literally.

Well, if you’ve been reminiscing about the good old days of Sabrina The Teenage Witch and wished that the show was still on air, Netflix will be making your dream come true, but in a slightly different way.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the online-streaming network has ordered a two-season, 20-episode series revolving around Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
The new show will be based on the Archie Comics graphic novel – The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Netflix’s latest commission will have a darker approach compared to the 90s hit show and will have a similar vibe to Riverdale.
According to the company, Sabrina will have a “more horror-infused coming-of-age tale that deals with the occult and witchcraft influenced by the likes of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist.”
Wow, we love the sound of this new, darker Sabrina and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
But we do hope that they’ll maintain Salem’s character because honestly, no one can roast Sabrina or anyone better than that cursed cat.

No word yet on who will play the lead role of Sabrina, but we’ve heard rumours that Selena Gomez is one of the actresses who has been shortlisted.
If it’s true, we hope she gets the role because hey, who wouldn’t want to watch Selena Gomez as a teenage witch?
