Last month, Malaysia’s number one singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, made headlines after she and her husband organised a private tahnik event for her newborn son.

The event was attended by close family members, several renowned local Muslim preachers, as well as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.

Angry netizens accused the singer for flouting standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the event and questioned how several guests who attended the event managed to obtain the permission to travel interstate.

Kudos to the authorities for deciding on the fine. May double standards among VIPs and celebrities cease to exist.
