South Korea and North Korea are coming together in the name of K-pop.

At least nine top K-pop acts will be heading to the Pyongyang next week to perform in a number of concerts as part of a cross-border deal.

The shows, which will mark a first for the North Korean capital in at least a decade, will be part of reconciliatory steps taken ahead of an upcoming inter-Korean summit in April.

According to multiple reports, South Korea is proposing for Psy, the singer behind probably the most viral K-pop hit of all-time, 'Gangnam Style' to perform in Pyongyang.

However, Pyongyang is reportedly not too keen about this because they're concerned about the 40-year-old entertainer's provocative performance style in the past, you know, since the North is known to be quite conservative.

At the moment, the only K-pop act confirmed as part of the lineup is girl group Red Velvet. So we'll just have to wait until next week to find out who will the people up North get to see perform live.

In case you didn't know, South Korea's world-famous songs and dramas are actually not aired in the North and those who are found to possess or view these material could face harsh punishment. They could go to jail for watching Goblin!

But that doesn't stop the North Koreans from enjoying drama series and music produced by the South reportedly due to thumb drives smuggled from China.
