Perak isn’t the most popular place for music festivals in comparison with locations like Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. But the TAPAU team, organizers of the past TAPAUfest will be bringing the music to the Silver State with a number of Southeast Asian giants.

The festival will be held at Resort Tasik Raban in Lenggong, a wide space surrounded by lush greenery overlooking Raban Lake. Lenggong is also known as a UNESCO Heritage site, which is home to the famous Perak Man skeletons. The location looks ideal for a concert but somehow, no organizer has done that yet.

Headlining TAPAUfest’s lineup this year will be .Feast, led by singer and songwriter Baskara Putra - which is now one of Indonesia’s hottest upcoming bands. Popular for hits like ‘Peradaban’, ‘Berita Kehilangan’, ‘Dalam Hitungan’ and ‘Gelora’, .Feast is known for their groovy, foot-stomping tunes suitable for indie souls with rock n roll leanings.

Another indie giant in the lineup is Baskara Putra’s other band Hindia; a softer and poppier side of the multi-instrumentalist. Hindia serves a variety of sendu, emo tunes from ‘Secukupnya’ down to the knee-waggling ‘Rumah ke Rumah’ that will light up the hills of Lenggong with mini phone lights.

Joining the two will be Malaysia’s finest; nusantara rockers Margasatwa, noise kings Sweetass, reggae maestros Salammusik together with other local and South East Asian acts including The Pinholes, The DARE, The Filers, Sobs, Kungfu Heidi and more.

TAPAUfest will also be collaborating with arts & cultural non-profit body, Kakiseni for a section called ‘BENGKEL + LAYAR’, featuring indie film screenings by local filmmakers and exciting workshops for festivalgoers to participate in!
