For any movie buff, 2018 is a year that almost everyone waits in anticipation and excitement. Why? Because next year will probably be the most epic cinematic year to date.

Imagine a certain movie franchise that has been churning out tonnes of movies for over a decade and all of those movies will eventually lead up to one epic movie (read: Avengers: Infinity War).

How can one not be over the moon just thinking about it? Well if you don’t know what other movies you need to catch in 2018 apart from the Avengers, we’ve listed down the top 12 must-watch movies next year. Warning: after reading the list, you might have a sudden urge to move into a cinema.

#1 Insidious: The Last Key


This is the fourth installment in the Insidious universe and will uncover more details about Elise Rainer as she returns to her childhood home after being tasked to investigate strange occurrences. Just looking at the trailer especially the part where the ghost poked her neck is making us squirm. Definitely not for scary cats like us.

#2 Black Panther


We’ll finally get an insight on the backstory of another Marvel superhero, the Black Panther. It’s very refreshing to see a multi-million Hollywood movie not being whitewashed and has a very strong cast, including eye-candy Michael B. Jordan.

#3 Ready Player One


The movie takes place in 2045 where a young teenager wishes he could grew up in the 80s just like his heroes. In this era, their generation is heavily engrossed in an MMO game called the OASIS. Helmed by acclaimed director Steven Spielberg, this movie has a strong vibe of Tron and video games.

#4 X Men: The New Mutants


Meet the new generation of mutants, who don't even know that they possess unique abilities and powers and are being held in a ‘hospital’ against their will. To be honest, this doesn’t look like your average X Men movie, it looks more of a horror movie based on the trailer.

#7 Ocean’s 8


Read the list of cast members and your mind will be blown away. Ocean’s Eight is a new spin-off based on the 2001 movie, Ocean’s Eleven. And this spin-off features a bada** all-female cast members. The girl gang is planning a heist at the annual MET Gala. We just can’t wait to see how these actresses will kicka** side by side.
