‘Game of Thrones’ may have ended almost two years ago, much to the pleasure or dismay of fans who have been wondering if they’ll ever see their favourite characters on the small screen again.

Well, good news, because winter is coming again (maybe) in a different form soon.

According to Variety, another ‘Game of Thrones’ (GoT) prequel set in the world of Westeros is currently in development with HBO.

Move over throne, it's time for the egg to shine

Have you read the book before?
The one-hour show would be based on the series of fantasy novellas by George R. R. Martin titled ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’.

The novel follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a young Aegon V Targaryen (Egg) 90 years prior to the events of 'A Song of Ice and Fire.'

No cast members have been announced yet, but the show is HBO’s top priority at the moment as they are trying to replicate the success of ‘GoT’.

If this show comes through, it will be the second prequel for the critically acclaimed series.

Are you excited?!
The production team is currently prepping the first ‘GoT’ prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’ which is slated to debut in 2022.

Well fans, the bid to win the throne may have ended, but there are plenty of origin stories and prequels yet to be explored so you can expect to get back your daily dose of the Westeros and Essos soon.
