Yay Or Nay? Instagram Launches Its Own Version Of TikTok Called ‘Reels’
Not too long ago when Instagram introduced Instagram Stories, people couldn’t help but feel that the platform was ripping off the same concept from another social media website Snapchat.
And now Instagram is back at it once again with Reels, a copycat of the trending app TikTok.
The short video platform allows users “to create fun videos” by recording and editing 15-second clips with audio, effects, and new creative tools.
Sounds very familiar, right?
Set to roll out soon

According to Instagram, you can share Reels with your followers on Feed, and, if you have a public account, make them available to the wider Instagram community through a new space in Explore.
The social media platform will be rolling out Reels in over 50 countries starting Thursday (6 August), and has already been tested in Brazil, France, Germany, and India months prior to its launch.
Ironically, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was questioned at a congressional hearing recently about the company’s habit of copying rivals.

Instagram Stories may have been a success, but will Reels catch on?
Will TikTokers make the move to the new platform soon?
Only time will tell.
