Fans of the wildly popular 2007 sitcom ‘Gossip Girl’, get ready to bring out your hairbands as the gang might be reuniting once again.

CW President Mark Pedowitz (the channel that aired the show) recently ‘spilled some tea’ that there has been talks to revive the popular TV show revolving around Manhattan’s elite teenagers.

Who else binge-watched this who during their high school days?
“There’s a discussion, but I don’t know if we’re there yet,” Pedowitz said.

“I don’t know what it would be. A lot is up to Warner Bros. and [exec producers] Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, ’cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”

Well at least we now know that they’re in talks and the best part is if it does happen, the titular characters on the show are down for another phase of ‘Gossip Girl’.

Blake Lively a.k.a Serena van der Woodsen told Variety in 2017 that she’d “be open to doing ‘Gossip Girl’ with the original cast.”

This woman doesn't age a day.
“Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it's hard work and I've got my babies, and I don't want to be away from them that much. But I've just learned in life you never say never.”

“I'm looking to do something that I haven't done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows—if it was good, if it made sense.”

As for Leighton Meester, she too seems keen on the idea.

The Upper East Side princess.
“If everyone was into it and if the timing was right, you know? I don’t want to say, ‘No, never…’” She then visualised her character in the current day – running her own fashion company and probably doing New York Fashion Week.

And if you’re wondering about Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, and Ed Westwick, well only one of them is up for it.

Crawford told US Weekly in December 2018 that he’s open for discussions but feels that he may be too old to reprise his role. “They’ll probably just reboot it and cast all new young kids,” he said.

Hello Joe Goldberg.
While others are busy considering their comeback with the show, Badgley is the least interested in the idea and is now probably too busy running around stalking other girls following the success of Netflix’s original series ‘You’.

Westwick on the other hand felt that his character has “played out” and he’s sees no future with his character and the show.

So, will a reboot be happening soon? Only time will tell. XOXO, Gossip Girl.
