If you're a huge fan of Disney and all its characters and properties, you would know that the highly-anticipated Disney Expo (or better known as D23) is currently taking place at Anaheim, California.

There were tonnes of exciting announcements -- from brand new theme parks to brand Disney new shows -- but the one that could our eye is this announcement: everyone's favourite Lizzie McGuire is officially coming back!

Yes it is.
The brand new series was announced during the D23 event on Friday (23 August).

According to Disney, the 'Lizzie McGuire' sequel will be helmed by the creator of the original series, Terri Minsky.

And in case you're wondering, yes, Hilary Duff will be reprising her role as the titular character.

Guess who's back?
Entertainment website Deadline reported that the new series will be a reimagined version of the popular sitcom, featuring Lizzie McGuire as a 30-year-old millenial navigating life in New York City.

The cute animated version of Lizzie McGuire, who offers funny and revealing commentary, will also be making a comeback, so, yay!

However, not much has been revealed yet about the brand new series - or whether the original cast will be returning -- but we do know that it will be shown on the upcoming Disney+ streaming platform.
