So, Who's This New Powerpuff Girl Named Bliss? We Break It Down For You

Cartoon Network introduced the official fourth member of The Powerpuff Girls through a five-part movie event, The Powerpuff Girls: The Power of Four on Sunday.

If you noticed, everything about her was designed to set her apart from the original girls – she’s taller, has darker skin, purple eyes and electric blue hair.

Some say that she looks like a certain singer.

So, who's Bliss and where did she come from? Here's a brief rundown of the brand new Powerpuff Girl:

1) She was created before Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup

Yep, she's actually the girls' elder sister. Just like her three sisters, Bliss was created by Professor Utonium with the same mix of sugar, spice and everything nice. But she has a backstory that is far more intriguing.

Ten years before he created Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Professor Utonium attempted a series of experiments to create the perfect little girl. He added Chemical W, which gave Bliss some unique abilities that the other Powerpuff Girls didn’t possess.

During her early years, the professor pretty much raised Bliss the same way as the other girls. But her superpowers made her an uncontrollable force.

2) Her powers are almost X-Men mutant-like

Despite being the older Powerpuff Girl, Bliss is still learning the ins and outs of her powers, which include flight, teleportation, telekinesis, and super-strength.

However, her powers are somehow connected to her emotions. Whenever she was happy, excited, sad or upset, her body would release a wave of explosive force that would destroy everything around her.

Think of her as a cute, innocent, powerful time bomb.

3) She was actually forced to leave Townsville

After destroying their home for the umpteenth time due to her inability to control her powers, Bliss made the difficult decision to leave Townsville for good to protect the people around her and live at a nearby island called, wait for it, Bird Poop.

Now, after years of living on an island covered in its namesake, Bliss finally decided to return to Townsville to look for Professor Utonium and was surprised to find her new sisters.

Despite still having little control of her abilities, Bliss fits in to the family very quickly and takes on the forces of evil against Townsville, alongside Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.

Now that they are a quartet, The Powerpuff Girls will certainly be unstoppable, right?
