The Trailer For The Upcoming 'M For Malaysia' Documentary Will Bring Tears To Your Eyes
This Malaysia Day, a documentary about the day that changed the game for our nation will hit our shores.
'M for Malaysia' documents the 2018 Malaysian General Elections when the people of Malaysia, led by a 92 year-old former Prime Minister, overthrew one of the longest ruling governments in the world.
Despite endless barriers thrown at them, the tense campaign pushed on with the most surprising result in the country’s history.

In the past year, we have heard countless commentaries, debates, analysis and stories about the fateful day. But most of us did not get a close look to Dr Mahathir Mohamad during the election campaign.
This film gives us an unprecedented access to the nonagenarian in his final political battle with Pakatan Harapan.

Working with his political nemesis whom he had once demonised and jailed, Dr Mahathir sets out to redeem himself and right his wrongs in order to save his country, going head to head with his former protege Najib Razak of Barisan National.
The impetus for this was Najib’s implication in the 1MDB scandal that the U.S. Department of Justice had classified as the largest kleptocracy in history.
Directed by Dian Lee and Ineza Roussille, this documentary - which was shown at the 2019 CAAM Festival and the 2019 DocEdge Film Festival - will see Dr Mahathir on a mission to undo the unfathomable levels of corruption, murder scandals and a complete breakdown of the rule of law by a government which had ruled Malaysia since independence for 60 years.
Marina Mahathir serves as the Executive Producer of 'M for Malaysia' and Oscar-winning Ruby Yang as Creative Producer.

"Witnessing the election campaign was an unforgettable experience, not just because we were alongside Mahathir during the campaign but also because we were extremely moved by the people of Malaysia - how they showed up in huge numbers at the election rallies, how they organised themselves to help one another to vote and how determined they were to change the government. We went from having little hope to making history," the director's statement read.
