Do you remember the time when watching MTV was a thing?

*GASP* "Who watches music videos? Spotify lah," says woke cousin Ben who was born in 1992.

Anywhooo... other than the never-ending music videos (which were freaking awesome) and crazy animation used to present the iconic MTV logo during breaks, the channel also came up with quite an assortment of iconic shows.

Let's reminisce.

Iconic Show #1: 'MTV Cribs'

What in the world is happening?
First aired in the year 2000, 'MTV Cribs' offered a rare glimpse into the homes of top celebrities and their crazy and usually over the top decor.

From Missy Elliot's fish tank chair, Kim Kardashian's bedroom stripper pole and Richard Branson's private island — nothing was predictable about the show.

The most iconic home tour would however have to be the one featuring Mariah Carey's penthouse in New York.

We could not find the full video, but here's one part of the special hour-long episode.

Iconic Show #2: 'Room Raiders'

Did you all cringe watching this too?
They say that you can gauge a lot about a person based on where they live and on this premise, the show 'Room Raiders' was born.

Premiering in 2003, 'Room Raiders' was a reality dating show (we think). Well, you decide.

The show has three contestants. Their rooms are raided by a single man or woman and at the end of the episode the person raiding will have to choose which person he or she would like to go on a date with.

The catch is, all photos of the room owners will be removed so the raider only chooses based on what he or she finds in their rooms.

Have a look at some of the weirdest finds on 'Room Raiders'.

Iconic Show #3: 'Pimp My Ride'

Please pimp our rides too, MTV!
From diamond studded emblems, dancing cars, wild colors and ridiculous additions including hot tubs, badminton courts and grand pianos, 'Pimp My Ride' did unthinkable things with plain ol' cars.

Premiering in 2004, this show hosted by rapper Xzibit basically took old cars and pimped it the *bleep* out of it!

You may not need some of these things while driving around in your ride but like a close friend always says "it's nice to have the option".

Iconic Show #4: 'Punk'd'

It's fun seeing your fave celebs freaked out.
It was mean but you just could not help laughing at the stuff that Ashton Kutcher and his 'Punk'd'gang came up with on this hidden camera prank show.

Yes, yes, we also had another classic prank show called Candid Camera that one never featured celebrities and honestly, no one goes OTT with pranks like the 'Punk'd' team.

The show which premiered in 2003 was created by Ashton and Jason Goldberg with cheeky Ashton hosting the program as well.

Iconic Show #5: 'MTV Whatever Things'

It's a whole lot of chaotic fun.
Hosted by Hong Kong actor Edison Cheng, 'MTV Whatever Things' was the Asian, safer version of the popular reality show 'Jackass'.

The TV series premiered back in 2003, and it featured some of the most popular actors in Asia at the time doing crazy stunts, like being hung from a tree while someone slaps you with a towel.

We don't know how to even describe what the show is about, so check it out below:

Loved that little blast from the past? What other MTV shows do you remember from that time?

We understand that a few of these shows have been repackaged for Snapchat but blergh, we want them back on TV.

Perhaps a reboot is in order. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
