How do you leave a historical mark just days before to this year’s International Women’s Day? By being the first all-female crew to fly over the Pacific Ocean, that's how!
Air India made history after they became the first airline to make the first round-the-world trip entirely staffed by an all-women crew.
Why? Because, who run the world? Girls!

The Air India Boeing 777 made a return trip from Delhi to San Francisco covering around 9,500 miles (15,300 km) across the Atlantic on February 27th.
Apart from having an all-female cabin crew and pilots, all the ground staff involved with the flight - safety auditors, engineers, bag handlers, customer service staff and air traffic controllers - were all women! How impressive, right?

The flight was piloted by Captain Sunita Narula, Captain Kshamta Bajpai, Captain Indira Singh, and Captain Gunjan Aggarwal.
According to Capt. Kshamta, “The flight is a symbol of women empowerment and it will encourage women to step out of their comfort zone and succeed in male-dominated arenas too. It is a symbol that every single male-dominated function can be carried out by women safely and efficiently.”
Air India has reportedly contacted Guinness Book of World Records to get some recognition on this historical milestone.
The airline has also made plans to operate with an all-female crew again during the upcoming International Women’s Day this March 8th.
The move by Air India to fly an all-female crew has definitely proved one thing – who said that women can’t get what society perceives as a ‘men’s job’ done? We hope that this event will shed more light on women’s equality when it comes to job opportunities regardless of the field they wish to venture into.
