Apparently, Getting Infected With COVID-19 Can Make Your Penis Smaller
While contracting the coronavirus is bad enough, some men reportedly are experiencing side effects that they never wanted to have.
Unfortunately, there were reports about men's penises shrinking or becoming dysfunctional after the infection!
Yikes!
An unfortunate incident
According to a report in Mashable SEA, a man from US, who was a guest on the sexual health podcast ‘How To Do It’, said his penis has become shorter upon recovering from COVID-19.
The man said that after he was discharged from the hospital, he suffered some erectile dysfunction issues. Thankfully, his medical condition got better, but he was left with a lasting problem.
"My penis had shrunk. Before I got sick, I was above average – not huge, but definitely bigger than normal.
"Now I've lost about an inch-and-a-half, and have become decidedly less than average,” the 30-year-old was quoted as saying.
According to the doctors, the man's condition may have something to do with vascular (vein) damage in the erectile tissue of his penis.
"My doctors seem to think it's permanent.
"It shouldn't really matter, but it has had a profound impact on my self confidence in my abilities in bed," the poor man lamented.
It's a real thing!
While it may seem like a freak accident, this depressing side effect is actually quite possible.
A study conducted by a team from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2021 looked at two male patients who had shown impotency after getting infected with the virus.
The result of the study that was published in the World Journal of Men’s Health, showed that both men showed signs of blood vessel damage in their penises, compared with other patients who had erectile dysfunction but never caught coronavirus.
Another research by University College London found that five per cent of men who had been infected with COVID-19 experienced having shorter penises and 15 per cent had sexual dysfunction.
If there’s some consolation, those who fear this might eventually happen or for those who are already experiencing it, the side effects may be temporary.
Citing Dr. Charles Welliver, an urologist at Albany Medical College, said in the report that those who face the problem could consider rehabilitative methods for a cure, including devices such as penis pumps or stretchers.
So, guys; please take preventive measures, OK? For yourself and your little friend.
