Apple fan boys and girls, how are you liking the AirPods so far? If you’ve enjoyed the wireless earphones, you’ll be delighted to know that Apple is making some enhancements to the future editions of the AirPods.

Bloomberg reported that the 2018 Apple AirPods will soon have a voice activation feature for Siri. The current version allows user to access Siri by physically tapping the AirPods.

So, how does it work? Well, just like Amazon’s Echo device, you’ll most likely have to say something along the lines of ‘Hey Siri’ to activate the virtual assistant.

To be honest, we still prefer earphones with wires...
However, it's important to note that the 2018 edition does not come with the water-resistant feature so don’t go and pandai-pandai soak it in water or walk in the rain with it, okay?

The water-resistant feature is only planned for the 2019 launch, and according to Apple, the new feature will protect against “splashes of water and rain”. What that means is, it's not suitable for full submersion in water.

However, since there’s no concrete confirmation about it, Apple may or may not scrap it.

So, will you be getting the upgraded AirPods soon or are you completely fine living off without the voice-activated Siri or water-resistant feature?
