Bukak Puasa in Hilton-style This Ramadan with a Blend of Traditional Delights & Creative Dishes
Kicking off this year’s Ramadan celebrations, Hilton Hotels introduced their heartwarming campaign, “Nikmati Sajian, Eratkan Jalinan” which marked the beginning of a season filled with meaningful connections over curated dining experiences.
The campaign launch at Hilton Kuala Lumpur (KL) had us sample a wide spread of dishes presented by eight Hilton properties, namely Hilton KL, Hilton Petaling Jaya (PJ), DoubleTree by Hilton KL, DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside, DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City, DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka, Double-Tree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort (Perak) and DoubleTree by Hilton Penang.

The dishes ranged from nostalgic traditional favourites such as ayam bawang and kari udang to innovative creations such as slow-baked Australian beef short ribs with sambal strawberry and solok lada salmon.
The selection featured an impressive spread of 16 appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, ensuring a delightful dining experience for guests throughout the fasting month. However, we’re just gonna focus on each hotel’s main highlights.

Hilton KL

Hilton KL features a lavish spread of local and international cuisine where premium ingredients, fresh local produce and traditional recipes are reimagined with a contemporary flair.
The two mains we sampled were the Australian Lamb Neck Asam Pedas and Slow-Baked Australian Beef Short Ribs with Serunding Kelapa and Sambal Strawberry.
Although we loved the tenderness of the beef in the asam pedas, we found the sauce to be slightly on the blander side.

However, the slow-baked Australian beef short ribs were a perfect blend of familiar tastes thanks to the serunding kelapa combined with the unique sambal strawberry. The rich Australian beef short rib fused perfectly with the other components for a rich fattier dish packed with all the right flavours.
The Exquisite Ramadan Showcase buffet at Vasco’s at Hilton KL is priced at RM238 nett per adult and RM119 nett per child (6-12 years old).

Hilton Petaling Jaya

The main dishes offered by Hilton PJ were on the spicier side including kambing hiris and sos bbq Szechuan with roti mantau and daging kepal rebus with bawang dan cili jeruk dalam kuah lemak cili padi.
The kuah lemak cili padi, served with daging kepal rebus dengan bawang dan cili jeruk was rich, creamy and spicy. Meanwhile, the kambing hiris dengan sos BBQ Szechuan, served with roti mantau will make you get your hands dirty as the greasy and slightly sweet pairs well with the spicy and tender goat.

Prices for the Ramadan Hidden Treasures Dinner Buffet from March 1-3 and March 27-29 are RM158 nett per adult and RM79 nett per child. From March 6-26, their buffet is available at RM218 nett per adult and RM 109 nett per child.

DoubleTree by Hilton KL

The dishes offered by DoubleTree by Hilton KL consists of familiar favourites such as Australian Lamb Assam Pedas and Chef Zul’s Kari Udang Mamak.
We thought that the Australian lamb assam pedas was one of our best assam pedas dishes of the night as the lamb soaked up the rich and flavourful assam pedas extraordinarily.
Additionally, the kari udang mamak featured a super creamy and rich broth with massive prawns as the centrepiece.

From February 28 - March 6, the buffet is RM151 nett per adult and RM76 nett per child daily. The buffet is priced at RM209 nett per adult and RM105 nett for child (Sun-Thurs), and RM229 nett per adult; RM115 nett per child (Fri-Sat) from March 7 - 30.

DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside

DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside featured innovative dishes such as the salmon percik kepit buluh and 12-hour slow-cooked harissa marinated beef leg with Yemeni kabsah.
Although we can appreciate the chef’s creativity in coming up with the idea to replace chicken with salmon for the percik kepit buluh, we felt that this dish was slightly underwhelming as the salmon didn’t offer much to the dish and tasted quite plain.
On the other hand, the 12-hour slow-cooked harissa marinated beef leg with Yemeni kabsah was the opposite as it was an explosion of flavours. The meat was extremely tender and effortlessly came off the bone and when eaten with the rice, offered an amazing punch of flavours.

Prices for Makan Kitchen start at RM188 nett per adult and RM94 nett per child, with an early bird price of RM138 nett per adult and RM69 nett per child. For dining at Temenggor, the prices are RM148 nett per adult and RM94 nett per child, with an early bird price of RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child. Children below 5 years old eat free at both locations.

DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City

The dishes at DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City certainly brought out the heat with its Udang Salai Lemak Belimbing Buluh and Kambing Kerutuk Mak-Mak.
The Udang Salai Lemak Belimbing Buluh was incredibly fragrant and creamy, yet intensely spicy, while the Kambing Kerutuk Mak-Mak was delightfully tasty.

DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka

This property featured some creative dishes with its Nasi Lemuni, Solok Lada Salmon and Beef Cheek Assam Pedas.
Although we felt like the assam pedas itself wasn’t as good as Australian Lamb Assam Pedas offered by DoubleTree by Hilton KL, we loved how the chef opted to use beef cheek which was extremely tender and soft.

We also enjoyed the combination of solok lada salmon which was paired with nasi lemuni, a rice dish popular in the Northern regions of Malaysia.
Prices start from RM158 nett per adult, and RM76 nett per senior citizen/child (6+years), while children aged 5 years and below eat for free. Purchase promotional vouchers for just RM110 nett per person from February 17 to March 7.

DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort

Staying true to its Perak roots, DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort showcased its Rendang Tok Short Rib Salai, and Masak Lemak Cili Api Ayam Kampung With Rebung Served With Pulut.
The Rendang Tok Short Rib Salai featured tender short ribs which fell off the bones and melted in your mouth, infused in a rich blend of spices in the gravy which perfectly coated the meat. Meanwhile, the Masak Lemak Cili Api Ayam Kampung With Rebung was equally as good.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang

The Penang property really showcased some of Penang’s delicacies with its Ayam Bawang Mamu and Daging Pesamah Utara bersama Pulut Kuning.
We couldn’t get enough of the Ayam Bawang Mamu which was rich with onions and featured a thick and flavourful gravy which left us wanting more.
The Daging Pesamah Utara was rolled inside the pulut kuning which allowed it to fully absorb the sweet and flavourful sauce and perfecty complemented the tender and spicy daging peasamah utara.

From March 7-29, enjoy a festive weekend iftar, priced at RM138 nett per adult, RM98 nett per senior citizen, and RM69 nett per child on weekends, with a 20% early bird discount.
The weekday buffets from March 7-22 are priced at RM118 nett per adult and RM59 nett per child.
For a more intimate setting, set menus are also available at Makan Kitchen from March 2-6 and 23-27 at RM118 nett for two (2) persons.

Besides unique main dishes, each property also offered a wide range of creative appetisers and desserts.
This includes Nyonya Popiah Basah and Penang Teochew Cendol Pudding at DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang, Beef and Vegetable foldover and Gula Melaka Jackfruit Cheesecake at DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka, and Musang King Fritters at DoubleTree by Hilton KL just to name a few.

Nikmati Sajian, Eratkan Jalinan at Hilton

During the launch, we only managed to sample the dishes at eight Hilton properties but do note that there are a total of 12 Hilton properties involved in the campaign including Hilton Kuching, Hilton Kota Kinabalu, DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru, and Hilton Garden Inn Puchong.
