It's Beer O'Clock all day this weekend of October 7 and 8 as Malaysia's largest craft beer festival, Better Beer Festival (BBF) 2016, returns for its 5th year.

The 'beery' good time is set to take place at White Box and The Square in Publika, where over 100 unique craft beers will take centre stage and be complemented by live music performances. Quench your thirst with beers from around the world including Australia, Japan, USA, England, Scotland, Denmark, Vietnam, Singapore, Belgium and New Zealand.

Drinking however, is not the only activity on the table. Those who are thirsy for knowledge can participate in a Meet the Brewers Session and chat about all things beer with the experts. Participating brewers are Hitachino Nest Beer (Japan), Pasteur Street Brewing Company (Vietnam), 2 Brothers Brewery (Australia) and Hawkers Beer (Australia). There are two sessions that you can sit in for: Friday (Oct 7) from 8pm to 9pm, and Saturday (Oct 8) from 5pm to 6pm.

True beer hipsters also can get together at a Beer Appreciation Session on Saturday (Oct 8) from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. For RM60 per person, the session offers a hands-on learning experience about craft beer. Be quick to secure your spot though--there is space for only 20 people.

Now, all beer and no grub at a beer fest is a crime. So this year's BBF is partnering with Tiffin for a Chowdown that will keep your stomach happy--and the menu is far more than just salted peanuts, french fries and your usual pub grub. Instead, think laksa mussels, beer sorbet, rum and butterscotch popcorn, porter braised brisket and a whole lot more.
