A photo showing a stray doggo seeking shelter in a convenience store during a recent thunderstorm has gone viral online.

A customer, who goes by the name of Aqluq Hakimi Saiful Aula, wrote on his Facebook page that he was shopping at an undisclosed 99 Speedmart outlet when he stumbled upon the doggo napping comfortably on a stack of dry dog food.

“The Speedmart employee said the loud thunder scared the dog, that’s why it ran to hide here,” Aqluq wrote.

The employee told Aqluq that the same doggo would always go into the store to hide every time there is thunder and heavy rain.

Aqluq's post was even shared on Twitter, where it has since amassed more than 26,400 likes and retweeted more than 12,800 times.

Netizens praise kindness

While there were some concerns about the doggo's presence in the convenience store, a majority of the netizens were quick to heap praises on the store's employee for letting the canine seek refuge in the store.

There were those who even suggested that they would adopt the poor doggo if the circumstances allow it:
Thank you for providing a safe shelter for our doggo friends.
