It's Earth Day today (22 April) you guys!

Usually, we would tell you to go outside, enjoy the world and plant a tree or something but because of the MCO, it's best to stay put.

Buuuuuut of course there are many ways that you can make a difference or help the earth from the comfort of your sofa.

So sit back, put your feet up and read on as we introduce a number of apps that you can download (some require you to go outside - that step can be done later) and do your part for the planet.

GoodGuide

This product good, that product bad.
This app allows you to find more eco-friendly products. All you need to do is to scan the barcode of a product you want to buy and app tells you the highest-rated product and also allows you to check how green or socially responsible the company is!

Pretty cool kan.

Android: GoodGuide Scanner

Happy Cow

Green are yummy too!
We love our meats but the reality is most meat come from farms or ranches that require trees or forests to be chopped down. The global demand for meat is also constantly rising so if you want to help reduce consumption (and indirectly stop more trees from being cut down), you can go vegetarian.

Happy Cow allows you to browse for vegetarian options or takeout spots near you.

IOS: Vegan Food Near You - Happy Cow
Android: Find Vegan Restaurants & Vegetarian Food- HappyCow

Ecosia

Just keep browsing, browsing, browsing.
Ecosia is an extremely simple way to help the environment. All you have to do is use the Ecosia browser when looking for stuff online. The search engine then donates 80% of their ad profits to charity. For every 45 searches, one tree will be planted.

IOS: Ecosia
Android: Ecosia

Green Kitchen

Overcooked veggies should be a crime.

Remember when we spoke about consuming less meat and how it helps Mother Earth. Wellllll, if you've decided to take that path, this app serves up a collection of delicious vegetarian recipes that you can cook at home.

Cook green, eat green and save the earth.

IOS: Green Kitchen
Android: We could not find this exact app on Android but you can try Tasteful Vegan Recipes

OLIO

Sharing is caring.

This app is super cool. OLIO allows you to share your extra food—and seldom-used kitchen gadgets—with your neighbours.

We've not personally tried it yet but this is how it works according to the description.

Download the app, snap a photo of the item you intend to give away, add a brief description and provide pick-up details. Then people respond to that post and agree to take it off your hands.

Of course you can also browse what other want to give away and agree to take it off their hands.

Simple.

IOS: OLIO
Android: OLIO

So, what are you waiting for? Go explore one or two apps and do your part to keep the earth greener.

Happy Earth Day everyone!
