Imagine sitting back with a nice cup of coffee and whiling away a good few hours with a stunning seaside view. Mmm. Our bodies are in the office, but our minds are already there.

You’d think there would be loads of sea-facing restaurants, right? Despite being a nation blessed with many beautiful beaches and our two major landmasses are surrounded by water, it was strangely hard to put together this list. Read on for hidden gems that you might want to add to favourites on your Google maps:

Puteh Beach Bar, Pahang

With turquoise bean bags and an all-white setting, this place will transport you to the shores of Santorini. This stunning beachfront setting offers dining, drinks, and live music performances for the ultimate dining experience.

You might even want to take your getaway to another level by reserving a private DIY seafood barbeque campfire right on the beach!

Address: Adena Beach Resort Off Jalan Kuantan - Kemaman Sungai Karang, Pantai Balok, 26080 Kuantan, Pahang

Yard & Co., Johor

Who needs to fly to Jeju Island when you can visit this lovely café in Johor instead? You can enjoy the aesthetic ambiance of the café inside or have a seat at the outside sitting area facing the South China Sea. With white walls, arched doorways, large glass windows, and rattan chairs, you’ll want to snap one for the ‘gram of yourself enjoying a milk mochi or their Laksa pasta.

Address: Lot4785, 1, Jalan Siakap, Kampung Sungai Rengit, 81600 Pengerang, Johor

Pound, Jesselton Mall, Sabah

You wouldn’t expect a restaurant in a mall to be on this list, but you might want to head here to catch the sunset and the seascape at this modern casual all day dining restaurant. This restaurant shows that KK can also do ‘atas’ vibes with its honeycomb-patterned tiles, coral-hued bar, and plush seats. Knock back an Espresso Martini (or two) and tantalise your tastebuds with some top-notch Ratatouille seabass.

Yellow Beach Café, Langkawi Island

Enjoy the sounds of the waves crashing and stare out at the serene blue waters at this spot on the shores of Pantai Cenang. Yellow is the colour of summer and this café turns the holiday vibes up high with its bright interior. We recommend ordering up a Virgin Blue Lagoon for a refreshing kick that doubles up for the perfect picture and then lying down in one of their hammocks. Sounds like the perfect day already!
