Explore A Multicoloured Wonderland at the Avatar Secret Garden Putrajaya
The original Avatar film may have come out more than a decade ago but scenes from the blockbuster movie such as its CGI glow-in-the-dark trees are still fresh in our mind.
While the sequel to the film is set to be released this year starring our very own Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, you don’t have to purchase a movie ticket to see ‘glowing trees’, as you can see them in person right here in Putrajaya soon.
The city may be known to be the location of numerous government offices including the Prime Minister’s Office but will soon house a fascinating place worth seeing. Putrajaya City Hall’s recently teased an upcoming attraction on its Facebook page called the ‘Putrajaya Secret Garden’.
While it may look like any ordinary and well-kept park in the daytime, when night falls, this park truly comes alive as the lights turn on. A beautiful fantasy landscape awaits to be explored with large trees that would not look amiss in the land of Pandora draped with lights that seemingly appear to have bioluminescent qualities like jellyfish from afar. Shrubs, arches, and pavements have also been artfully dotted and decorated with multicoloured lights.

Bring a friend or bring a partner and head there to snap some artistic OOTD shots with the gorgeous glowing lights in the background. It’s the perfect place to spend some quality time with the family or to take a romantic stroll. Best of all, the view is free!
Many may be unaware, but this is not the first attraction of its kind in Malaysia. The Penang Avatar Secret Garden became a local hotspot some years back with LED lights being draped on trees next to the beach in Tanjung Tokong, but unfortunately has fallen into disrepair in recent years.
For now, the park is yet to be open to the public as preparation work is still ongoing. To visit the park when its ready, head over to the Taman Putra Perdana Precinct 1, opposite the Pulse Grande Hotel. There is ample parking space as well as a public washroom. Follow Putrajaya City Hall’s Facebook page for updates.
