Let's face it; it's not easy to attract people to check out your event.

You have to have a 'hook'; something to steal someone's attention long enough for them to slowly gravitate towards your event.

A group of university students in Kuantan found the perfect hook.

To the moon and back

So pretty, kan?
To promote their car boot sale, a group of Universiti Malaysia Pahang graduates have installed a giant inflatable moon on the beach of Batu Hitam in Kuantan.

According to a report by Bernama, the moon, measuring six metres in diameted, is now the highlight of the night car boot sale called ‘Malam Carbooth’

The students -- Joe Fadzly Johari, Muhammad Asyraf Mat Nain and Muhamad Nazirul Aman Rusli Aman, all 25 -- who operates the Malam Carbooth said they've decided to install the giant moon after they were inspired by the beautiful image of moonlight over water.

You can touch the moon.
Muhamad Nazirul told the news agency that they bought the custom-made inflatable moon from a manufacturer in China in order to attract more visitors to the car booth sales.

And according to him, it's worked out fine so far.

“Alhamdulillah, the response is encouraging. Those who come will not miss the opportunity to take pictures with the ‘moon’. It is a relief to see that our hard work has paid off,” he was quoted as saying.
