Groupon Malaysia is now Officially Fave

GROUPON MALAYSIA is now FAVE. Why the name Fave? Who knows.

Yes, your favourite buffet and spa package finder is back, better than ever. Just like the story we did on Chatime turning into Tealive, Groupon Malaysia has shuttered and spinned off into its own company, free of the shackles of corporate America. Say hello to FAVE.

With the name change the app will now make it easier for customers to redeem their deals, or rather, their 'Faves'. There is no need for you to print out the deal anymore as everything can be done via your phone. If you were a Groupon customer previously who has some deals to redeem, you may continue to do so until 31st of March 2017. After that, consider your Groupons gone!
The birth of Fave is a rather convoluted tale starting with Joel Neoh, the ex-CEO of Groupon Malaysia founding Groupsmore. The Groupon clone was later bought by Groupon America and was renamed Groupon Malaysia. Joel Neoh subsequently quit Groupon, the company he started and focused on K-Fit, a fitness deals e-commerce platform for gym-junkies. K-Fit was renamed Fave, and as Groupon Malaysia crumbled, lacking the support of its US counterparts, K-Fit now Fave, purchased Groupon Malaysia, absorbing its customer and client. They've already done so for Groupon Indonesia as well with success.

We've tried the app and from what we can tell, Groupon, sorry, Fave, have lost some of its heavy-hitter clients but have retained most of their loyal clients. You can still find Morganfield's on the app and buffets from hotels around Bukit Bintang. We will say that the app is not as intuitive as Groupon's and it's a bit of a mess trying to browse for deals. Its website however is an improvement. Also, products are gone.
"Food, spa, food, buffet, yep. Its all there."

Before we end we'd like to leave Fave with a question. Why Fave? What does it mean? Why aren't you playing up the word "fave" more? Why aren't deals called 'faves' and why can't we 'fave' certain things on the app? Why isn't there a marketing team capitalising on the word and turning it into catchy one-liners? Something like "I faved it", "Fave to this", "You can fave anytime", "Fave you" or "I'm faving this for later."

Just so you know, these fave-words are ours and you can't use them. If we find any of these phrases on your site the next time, we're suing. For a lot. Unless you ask nicely.
