Have some unused clothes lying around in your wardrobe for far too long?

Well, why not donate them for a good cause?

Do it for charity

The Persatuan Keluarga Autisme UPM (PEKAUPM) is looking for unused or second-hand clothes for its fundraising project.

The programme collects items like used clothing, shoes, bags or curtains that are in good or worn condition for the project that they are collaborating with Life Line Clothing Malaysia, PEKAUPM exco member Rafidah Sadarudin told Malay Mail.

The clothing will be used to raise funds to help autistic children.

She said despite the programme’s official starting date on 12 and 13 September, they have already received a lot of unused clothes thanks to the publicity on social media.

“We receive messages from Johor, Penang, Melaka, Terengganu, Perak and Kedah to enquire whether we have similar programmes at their state but sadly we are only focusing at our university.”

“To date, we have received some three tonnes of clothing,” Rafidah was quoted as saying.

The programme will be held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia's Dewan Besar in Serdang from 9am to 4pm, so you can head over to the campus if you would like to drop off your unused items.
