And if you’re obsessed about Doraemon just as how the cat is obsessed with Dorayaki, we’ve got some great news for you.
The Doraemon Pop-Up Store is finally here in Klang Valley after a successful run in Johor Bahru recently. The pop-up store will not only feature a myriad of Doraemon merchandise but also cute life-sized Doraemon installations which are super Insta-worthy!
The event is happening from 11 January to 17 February 2019 at the upper ground floor of Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya.
We were invited to its official launch today and took the time to explore some of the unique and cute Doraemon merchandise up for sale. Here’s our very own list of must-have items from the pop-up store.
#1 Cushions/Plushies
When we first arrived, the first thing we laid our eyes on was the endless collection of plushies and cushions that come in all shapes and sizes. We fancied the dorayaki-shaped cushion with Doraemon printed on it (RM89.90) and the Doraemon head-shaped pillow (RM49.90). They even have different versions of Doraemon (yellow, green, pruple) selling for as low as RM29.90.
#2 Doraemon Candy
Yes guys, if you think seeing a galore of everything-Doraemon isn’t enough, the pop-up store is also selling Doraemon candy of all sorts. We’re intrigued by the gigantic lollipop that has 15 small lollipops in it, selling for RM15 each or 2 for RM25. If lollipops aren’t your thing, they also have pastilles, chewy candy, and chocolate.
#3 Notebooks
Are you one of those people who love collecting notebooks because they have nice covers but you know you’ll never use? Well, prepare to add a couple more to your growing collection. From simple to cute and kitsch patterns, you’ll definitely fall in love with its notebooks selling for a bargain – 3 for RM10 or RM4.90 each!
#4 Mugs
You can never have enough mugs at home, so why not take your Doraemon fandom up one mug? The mugs come in blue and white with Doraemon’s face plastered on it, begging you to bring it home. We couldn’t decide which to get, so we got both. The blue mug is sold for RM24.90 while the white one is priced at RM19.90.
#5 Lanyards and Button Badges
Remember how you used to enjoy collecting button badges so that you can stick them on your school bag or pencil box? 10 years later, you might still have the same habit and instead of pinning them to your bag, it’s on your employee ID lanyard. Go crazy with the choices of lanyards up for sale for RM12.90 or two for RM20 and button badges priced at RM10 for three pieces.
We could list other items that are on sale but it’ll go on forever. But if you’re wondering if they’re selling apparel, bags, and stationery, the answer is yes.
After doing some shopping, why not try your luck at the Doraemon games booth or claw machine? You can play one game at the booth for RM6 or two games for RM10. One of the prizes – a plushie is quite big and is not for sale.
