H&M Brings High-Fashion Photoshoot To The Lovely Island Of Penang
You know you've made it when a popular fashion brand named your state as "the perfect backdrop" for a high-fashion photoshoot.
Recently, UK's Elle magazine conducted a photoshoot for popular Swedish fashion brand H&M in none other than Penang Island!
During the entire shoot, lanky models, draped from head-to-toe in H&M clothing, were seen strutting their stuff on the streets of the island.
According to the writer of the piece, Jessica Vince, the heritage area of George Town - with it's colonial buildings and lantern-lit streets - is the perfect backdrop for the photoshoot.

The photoshoot was for the brand's Spring Collection, which is slated to drop on 30 March.

This wasn't the first time the land of yummy char kuey teow was used as a backdrop for a photoshoot or a movie.Part of the 2007 Hong Kong movie Lust, Caution - which was directed by Oscar-winning director Ang Lee - was reportedly shot in Penang.
Several scenes from the highly-acclaimed 1999 movie Anna and the King were also reportedly filmed in Penang, namely the Armenian Street, Khoo Kongsi, Swettenham Pier and Penang Town Hall's.
