'I can eat a lot'

A restaurant in the Hunan province of China has banned the man from ever eating at their restaurant - simply because he eats too much.

According to a report by the BBC, the man, who is only known as Mr Kang, has been blacklisted by the Handadi Seafood BBQ Buffet located in Changsha after a series of superhuman-like eating binges.

Mr Kang, who happens to be a food streamer, alleged that the restaurant 'discriminated' him after he ate -- are you ready for this? -- 5.5kg of food across a number of visits.

Mr Kang reportedly ate 1.5kg of pork trotters during his first binge, and 3.5kg to 4kg of prawns on a separate occasion.

In his defence, Mr Kang said he didn't waste any of the food and that he shouldn't be punished for his impressive appetite.

"I can eat a lot - is that a fault?" he reportedly asked.

Restaurant loses money

Explaining their decision to ban Mr Kang, the owner of the restaurant told Hunan TV that his eating binges are slowly putting him out of business.

The owner said he loses "a few hundred yuan" every time the man visits.

"Even when he drinks soy milk, he can drink 20 or 30 bottles. When he eats the pork trotters, he consumes the whole tray of them.

"And for prawns, usually people use tongs to pick them up, he uses a tray to take them all,” he was quoted as saying.

On top of banning Mr Kang, the restaurant has reportedly banned live-streamers as well, as the Chinese government has reportedly been cracking down on eating influencers since last year.

Mr Kang's predicament and the restaurant's move have gone viral on Chinese social media sites, with the story being viewed more than 250 million times on Weibo.

The story received mixed opinions from netizens, as some said the restaurant should call have the title all-you-can-eat if it can’t provide a never-ending supply. Meanwhile, others think the man is taking advantage of the restaurant’s offer.
