'I was deceived'

A man from Egypt is reportedly divorcing his wife after seeing her without any makeup on for the first time, The Gulf Times reported.

The man, who said 'I do' to the woman just one month ago, was shocked to see his barefaced wife the morning after their wedding.

He then proceeded to file a lawsuit at the family court, claiming that the woman had deceived him with her looks.

“I was deceived by her as she used to apply heavy makeup before marriage.

“She looks ugly without makeup,” he reportedly told the court.

According to the man, they had apparently met through Facebook where she often posted beautiful pictures of herself wearing full makeup.

He decided to marry her after meeting her several times, and yes, as you can probably guessed, she had full makeup on each time.

“But after the wedding I saw her real face without makeup. I was shocked... as she looks nothing like the person I met several times before marriage.

“I saw her pictures on Facebook, she looks totally different when she does not wear makeup.

“I was deceived and want to divorce her,” he said in court.

Not the only time this has happened

While this may sound like an absurd reason to get a divorce, it has, however, happened before.

Back in 2016, a pair of newlyweds went their seperate ways after just six months of getting married because the husband saw his wife's bare face.

According to The Economic Times, the 34-year-old man filed for divorce after the wife's makeup washed off while they were swimming at the Al Mamzar beach in Sharjah.
