Iconic British Brand Dr. Martens is Bringing its Rebellious Style to Sunway Pyramid with Opening of New Store
Dr. Martens, known worldwide for its iconic and durable footwear, is excited to announce the opening of its new store at Sunway Pyramid.
The new location will feature a wide selection of Dr. Martens products, including classic 1460 boots, lifestyle accessories, and limited-edition collections that reflect the brand's individuality and rebellious spirit heritage.
The store officially opened on November 22, 2024, with the latest concept to enhance the shopping experience.
The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on 1 April 1960. With its trademark yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel loop, it was a boot for workers, initially worn by postmen and police officers.
Throughout Dr. Martens history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by diverse individuals, musicians, youth cultures and tribes. These people stand out from the crowd and their individual journey of expression has always been accompanied by a pair of DM’s boots or shoes. The simple silhouette allows people to customise each pair; whilst on a utilitarian level their famous durability and comfort make them ideal footwear for the world of gigs and street fashion.
The Northamptonshire factory where it all began still exists to this day, in the village of Wollaston. A specific range of ‘Made In England’ products are manufactured here by a small, close-knit team of people schooled in traditional shoemaking and a process that hasn’t changed since the first pair were created over six decades ago.

The newest additions to its storied line-up are the innovative 1460 Sub Boot and 14XX Sub Boot. Based on the design of the classic 1460 boot, they are a testament to the brand's commitment to progression, heritage, and craft.
The history of Dr. Martens is a story of craft, innovation, and cultural significance. Born from the ideas of three families, the 1460 boot has become an icon made the same way for over 60 years. Every pair of 1460 boots embodies a legacy of quality, versatility, and durability.
Built from famously durable and hardwearing smooth leather, the classic 8-eye 1460 boot is set on a DMS outsole with Doc's signature yellow welt stitch. It is also signed with an AirWair heel loop.
