Italy Is Giving Away More Than 100 Castles For Free. Here's How To Claim Yours
You can now be the king of your very own castle - like, literally!
The Italian government is reportedly giving away more than 100 historic castles, according to a report by CNBC.The best part is - you don't have to pay a single cent!
The government has recently launched a new scheme where 103 ancient buildings will reportedly be given away to deserving candidates this year.
The ancient buildings to be given away reportedly include picturesque castles with dungeons (hopefully), 19th century homes, inns and even a couple of monasteries.
There's only one catch: the new owners must restore the structures and turn it into a tourist spot.
So, if you've always dreamed of opening up a Bed & Breakfast - or heck, even a cafe! - in an old and possibly haunted European castle, now might be your chance!

If your cafe-slash-haunted museum-slash-Airbnb is really, really good, the government might give you a 50-year lease!
So, if you're interested, you can submit your application and a detailed plan on what you want to do with a castle via the Italian State Property Agency website by 26 June.
In case you did not make the cut this year, fret not; another 200 old buildings will reportedly be made available by 2020.
