Khairy Jamaluddin Steals The Spotlight At Ironman Langkawi; Receives Medal From Mom
Over the weekend, competitors from across the globe flocked to Langkawi to compete in the Ironman Langkawi.
A few local public figures also participated in the challenge, and one of them was former Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin.
Just to give you an idea of how tough the Ironman obstacle course is, participants will have to swim for 3.8km, cycle for 180km, and then run for 42.2km for the full category, while the 70.3 category is half of the distances mentioned.
The Rembau MP competed in the latter.
Khairy, who’s also fondly known as KJ, managed to finish the whole feat in 7 hours 24 seconds. He placed 444th out of 887 overall. Not too bad, eh?

Malaysians congratulated KJ for making it to the finish line and commended him for his effort to compete in the Ironman course.
Besides KJ, ‘Big Stage’ host Alif Satar also competed in the full Ironman Langkawi course, and he clocked in at 15 hours, 6 minutes and 50 seconds. He placed 619th out of 982.
Well done to both KJ and Alif! Wonder if any other celebrities or politicians will take up the challenge next year?
Syed Saddiq, perhaps?
