KL International Book Fair 2020 Goes Online Due To COVID-19
Bibliophiles, we know some of you are gutted that the annual Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) was postponed and later on cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
You’re sad that you’ll miss the sight of walking through hundreds or thousands of books on display and are sold at a bargain, the smell of new books, and also gathering with your fellow book club friends.
But fret not, because the show must go on as KLIBF makes history by organising the book fair online for the first time ever this year.
The online festival will be carried out on Shopee and will have over 140 booksellers offering over 30,000 titles.
KLIBF 2020 will be held from 25 June to 8 July at www.shopee.com.my/klibf.
According to Astro Awani, Director of Majlis Buku Kebangsaan Malaysia Mohd Khir Ngadiron says that the online festival is the best option and alternative based on the current situation.
This is inline with the Kuala Lumpur World Book Captial 2020’s aspirations in helping the book industry shift towards the online business model.
So book lovers, mark your calendars as Malaysia’s biggest book festival will be going online and this is your chance to grab more books at a pocket-friendlier price.
