This Hari Raya Aidilfitri, expect the unexpected.
Not only you cannot ‘balik kampung’ or visit your relatives, you must now also wear an added accessory along with your baju raya.
In this 'new normal', face masks are now a must-have, so why not create a baju Melayu line that comes with matching face masks?

Form with function

Local designer Kel Wen Tan have just recently launched a collection of baju Melayu with matching face masks to, you know, help you look stylish while combatting a deadly pandemic this Hari Raya.
According to a report in The Star Online, the baju Melayu retains the traditional tailoring technique – kekek, pesak and cekak musang – but at the same time, it is tailored to the current times when the world is battling the COVID-19 outbreak.
Form with function.
“The only difference is that it is designed to be worn bigger than your actual body size and it is easy to style with my pants in any variation.
“And with the COVID-19 pandemic, I am introducing a matching fabric mask for the ‘baju oversaiz’ instead of wearing matching pants, ” the 24-year-old designer said.
Tan said the “baju oversaiz” design went viral on social media last year and was inspired from the concept of an oversized sweater.
Suitable for the ladies too.
Tan also told the news portal that his baju Melayu collection was meant to make a fashion statement.
And make a fashion statement Tan's baju Melayu collection did.
If you're intrested to buy yourself a set or two, you can check out the full collection on the BEHATI Instagram page.
