According to a report in Malay Mail citing a report in Boston Herald, McLeish got lucky twice recently when he not only survived a double-bypass heart surgery but won the lottery for US$1 million (RM4.23 million)!

The winning ticket was given to McLeish by his friend Larry as a get well soon gift.

What luck!

The report said McLeish had taken part in the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” instant ticket that requires players to match their letters to words on a crossword puzzle-like board.

The more complete words the player has, the more he wins, and McLeish found 11 words total, which was a million-dollar number.

He said he first scratched off just three letters, A, W and M which were his initials and later also found the letter ‘heart’.

“We double-checked it, triple-checked and quadruple-checked it because you want to make sure it’s real before you mention it to anybody.

“It was a little bit of disbelief at first but then it settled in and it was like wow, I can’t believe this happened, you know?” he was quoted as saying.

If that is not lucky enough, you’d better believe it when we say Larry has bought McLeish a winning ticket for McLeish’s 60th birthday as well.

We wonder if the real lucky one is Larry?

McLeish is planning on sharing some of the winnings with his sons and Larry. How sweet!
