Malaysian Doctor Reveals Why Surgical Masks Are Not Effective Against The Haze
Every time the haze season hits Malaysia, only one item will be highly sought after: face masks.
We commonly see a lot of Malaysians sporting white or blue face masks, but do you know that you might be wearing the wrong face mask and you're still putting your health at risk?
Cardiologist Dr. Beni Rusani recently shared on Twitter the correct mask everyone should be wearing during the haze season:

According to Dr Beni, the mask that is the most effective is labeled N95, which filters out air particles, and not the surgical masks commonly worn by Malaysians.
Surgical masks are less effective, he said, because it is designed to protect users from liquids (like blood), so it does not filter fine particles and harmful substances in the air.
Dr. Beni also hopes that employers all over the country will provide the correct masks for their employees.

We personally visited a few convenience stores and pharmacies throughout the Klang Valley and found that both N95 and surgical masks are mostly sold out.
So, did you guys manage to purchase the correct mask?
