Malaysians Turn Into Doraemon, Makeup-Wearing Housewives Thanks To KPWKM’s Advice
Tuesday (31 March) was a day of blunder for the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM).
The ministry came under fire after they released a series of misogynistic tips for husbands and wives on how to avoid getting into an argument at home during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Netizens weren’t pleased when the ministry asked women to wear makeup and dress up although they are at home, as well as asking them to speak to their husbands in a Doraemon tone among many other things.
Malaysians' hilarious responses
But regardless of how controversial the issue can be, you can always count on Malaysians to see it from a humourous side.Taking on the ministry’s challenge to talk in Doraemon’s tone and also wear make up at home, here are some of the most hilarious parodies from Malaysians:

Women don't need to put on cartoon voices in their own homes to be heard. And men shouldn't accept this kind of narrative. More so now, than ever, we need to rise up to be a better version of ourselves. I am a man and I am proud of doing a Doraemon voice.#stayhome #doraemon pic.twitter.com/1k13Gzh81l— Harith Iskander (@HarithIskander) March 31, 2020
Thank you, Malaysians, for making us laugh."So, Rina Harun and her Women’s Ministry wants us wives to perpetuate patriarchy and toxic masculinity by stroking the fragile male ego of our husbands. In order to do this, we ought to sound like Doraemon."Macam ni ke, Cik Rina Harun? pic.twitter.com/NlowGylYF7— Liga Rakyat Demokratik (@LigaRakyatLRD) March 31, 2020
Now, let's all hope that the government agencies will think properly before executing any grand plans.
