McDonald’s Philippines Introduces Boba Milk Tea, Will ‘Mekdi’ Malaysia Be Next?

2019 is truly the year of the boba tea and as we are approaching the end of the year, we thought the boba craze would start to die down.
Well, we thought wrong.
In fact, the craze is still so strong, McDonald’s Philippines is the latest company to join the boba trend.
Launched on 27 September, the Filipino McD offers two variations of their Milk Tea McFloat – Wintermelon and Classic.
According to Coconuts Manila, the wintermelon milk tea tastes “good with a sweet caramel flavor but lacked the creaminess of drinks from milk tea shops”.
Looks very tempting... and so unhealthy.
Each drink is priced at Php75 (RM6.06) and on top of the addition of the brown sugar pearls, it is topped with McDonald’s iconic vanilla soft serve ice cream.
Well, since this boba tea comes with the ice cream, we’re really curious to know how it tastes like.
Hopefully, our very own ‘Mekdi’ will also introduce this new sweet, diabetic-inducing offering to our shores soon.
Would you try McDonald’s boba milk tea? Or do you think this unhealthy trend must come to a stop?
