Recently, ‘KFC’ went viral among motoring enthusiasts but not because of succulent fried chicken, but due to the vehicle plate registration plates, which according to JPJ Kedah, fetched a whopping amount of RM2,108,364 from 3,188 bidders.

The highest winning bid was RM52,000 for “KFC 7”, followed by RM48,000 bids for “KFC 8” and “KFC 9.”

Well if you missed your chance to install the 'KFC' registration plate on your car or motorcycle, fret not as the OG of all KFCs - a.k.a the real Kentucky Fried Chicken - will be organising their own bidding session soon (and yes, it involves plates too!).

A plate you can actually lick…

Trying to replicate JPJ Kedah’s success, KFC Malaysia has recently announced that they will be holding its first-ever open bidding for its limited edition KFC Original Plate (literally a plate, by the way) on 25 February 2021, 11am – 11pm on the KFC Facebook page.

Bidding will open at the iconic denomination of RM11, and Malaysians can participate with a minimum bid increase of RM1, so get those cluckin' fingers ready for an extensive keyboarding session!

The highest bidder will be crowned the winner, with 100 per cent of the profit going towards KFC Add Hope Malaysia - the local installment of KFC’s global initiative to end world hunger.

So, it’s a win-win situation for you and those who will be benefiting from the sales.

Well, we’re just a few more sleeps away from D-day, so set your alarms and happy bidding! We feel that this is a one-of-a-kind investment that’ll probably make returns in the future.
