2014 and 2017 were heavily dominated by one shade – rose gold or also known as millennial pink. The colour adorned almost everything – smartphones, home décor (read: Scandinavian-inspired homes), makeup brushes and tools, stationery, shoes, jewelry, and even a special rose gold merchandise line by Disneyland.

It was definitely a rosy year indeed. But it looks like that might change soon.

This was and still our bedroom #goals!
Pantone has introduced its Colour of the Year for 2018 and it’s a shade that’s not too far off from the millennial pink – the Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet.

According to the company, the colour “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.”

Ultra Violet is also a symbol for the “mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now.”

If you’re a mysterious and a discreet kind of person or a fan of the galaxies and its cosmos, than this shade is definitely screaming your name.

As for those who can’t think of how to incorporate this soon-to-be trending colour, just think of purple geodes, purple Aurora Borealis, purple galaxies, and the beautiful shades of purple adorning the dusk sky.

Look at these pretty crystals!
Isn't that view majestic!
Purple vibes, all year round!
Plus, this colour goes very well with whatever gold rose stuff you already own! So, you can up your décor game to the galaxies and beyond.

Now, we're waiting to see if there will be an iPhone with ultra violet colour.
