M’sian Cat-Themed Brand Bichi Mao Hosts Free Exhibition with Interactive Activities & Exclusive Merchandise
Get ready for a meow-nificent experience as Bichi Mao, the much-loved Malaysian cat-themed brand has recently launched its first solo exhibition filled with interactive activities and exclusive merchandise.
The homegrown brand’s exhibition is being held at the KLIF gallery at GMBB from August 24 to September 15.
What or who is Bichi Mao?
The brand was co-founded by Olive Yong and Wee Lim in 2019 when Olive decided to start experimenting with adorable and wholesome cat illustrations with bite-sized stories and shared positive messages.
Fast forward five years later, Bichi Mao has now garnered close to 700K followers on Instagram and has built a dedicated fanbase all around the world with a large number of followers from the US, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Besides the wholesome social media comics, the brand has since expanded and collaborated with various other brands to produce exclusive merchandise as well as gone on to feature at various exhibitions both locally and internationally.
First solo exhibition
Bichi Mao’s first solo exhibition is a showcase of the many different pieces of collaborative works it has featured including with brands such as Alyssa Madeline, Dao, Fujifilm’s Instax, and Seven Seas Amenities.
As you step into the exhibition, you can participate in a chance to win an Instax mini simply by counting the number of Instax cameras that have been hidden in a sea of maos.
Another interactive section is the Bichi Mao x Dao interactive bus stop where you can claim a free sticker.
There’s a section for Bichi Mao and Alyssa Madeline that features popular beauty products with adorable Bichi Mao packaging.
The exhibition also features several one-of-a-kind canvas paintings of iconic Bichi Mao comic strips and portraits which are all up for sale.
Another other interesting section is the Mao’s Lucky Paw area where you can win some Seven Seas amenities by participating in a simple draw.
Last but not least is the Mao Express section where you can mail your future self a postcard on one of the adorable postcards available.
